It can open all the way under its own power but it definitely won't close without several pounds of assistance for the first half of the ride down.
I've liberally applied teflon spray and in a few places white lithium grease. Didn't seem to make a difference. So next I lifted up the shutter retention kit, also wasn't enough.
So what's next to try? I've emailed Babak much the same though I'm thinking really my only course of action is dual motor/shutter tracks.
forgot to follow up; so loosening the wheels on top even more, adjusting the gear track plate screw alot allowed me to get it closing all the time without slippage. I did this before posting the thread and had to do it probably 3 times in total to get it right.
