After loads of work and modifications, I've finally got the dome syncing in N.I.N.A. I do have an issue with the dome returning to the home/park position at the end of the night. First, I have the slit centered on NCP with my scope at that point as well. I have the rotation motor mounted on the west side (approx 270 degrees). The dome is mounted on a square observatory, not the round walls. The magnet is connected to the rotation motor controller housing (factory) and I have the magnet taped on the dome, so that when the 2 are aligned, the slit is at NCP. So this makes my home and park position the same (charger is located under the slit). After a night of observing, when I tell the system to park, the scope goes back to NCP as expected and the dome will rotate to near home, close but not near enough to engage the charger. (2, 3 or 4 degrees off). I've started doing a full calibration before beggining my imaging just to see if that helps, but it doesn't. (the dome seems to sync with the scope throughout the night.
Any one else have this issue? Was wondering if I replaced the magnet with a micro switch to see if that works better (more acurate)?
Thoughts?
I see no one has responded to your post. I suggest that you take your question to the Facebook group "We love our nexdome observatories ". Hopefully someone there can help you.
