I didn’t have my charger connected but I connected the shutter motor power while I was installing the track. Of course I left it connected and now the battery is dead.
Babak gave me the part number to buy a new battery but I was wondering if anybody had any luck recovering a dead battery with a beefier charger or something.
I know I’m Cheap but before I go spend $50 I’d like to know. Also I figure in case I have a shutter close due to bad weather and the dome doesn’t park, won’t I have the same problem?
I have the dakota lithium 12v battery in my shutter, along with a dfrobot leonardo xbee board for the controller. So it turns out you can wake up a discharged battery by simply powering the leonardo with it's dc input jack or usb - the usb is accessible but if you unscrew the two screws on the right and pull the cover out you can also get quick access to the dc jack. It only takes a second to get it going and have the included BMS start charging again. I'm actually kind of surprised no one else found this, maybe the dakota wasn't in deep sleep yet but cut off the leonardo?
