The dome is pretty slippery and most of the time, especially if the snow is the fluffy kind, it will just slide off the dome. However if the snow is the heavy wet type, then it does stick a bit. A uniform snow load on the dome top transfers well to the wheels without deforming the walls. I do not know if you could snow load the dome enough to keep it from turning. However if snow thaws and freezes in or around the shutter that could present problems opening the shutter. Here are a few pics after a heavy snow of mine in central NH.
