I recently moved from California to Nebraska. As I have discovered, we get hail during our frequent thunder storms. I disassembled my dome and brought it with me. I am making some modificatiins to the atea that is prone to cracking at the rim with fiberglass.
I am looking for advice from anyone who has a dome in an area that is prone to large hail. I am considering lining the interior with fiberglass to reinforce.
Any thoughts or experience with hail?
Thank you,
Bill H
My update, Imade the modifications to the dome interior. Utter madness, the dome is now too heavy for the motor to move. My solution (s) are now as follows:
Is it possible to add an aditional motor, so that they run in tandem? I don't think that it is possible, but I will throw that out for comments.
2. Buy a new dome. I've tried to contact Babak, but there is not a phone number and I've been waiting for almost two weeks for a response to a prior question . Is he still in business?
Finally do not try to hail strengthen the dome, as it adds to much weight.
